Outfit of the Day for the Fourth of July

This year, my housemates and I hosted a Fourth of July party. We had tons of food, including hot dogs, burgers, sweets, and plenty of refreshments. I knew I was going to be running around our apartment preparing everything, so choosing a comfortable outfit was key for me.
Therefore, I chose to wear a relaxed, yet festive outfit, so that I could be the hostess with the mostest.
The highlight of my outfit was the seamless combination of red, white, and blue, which naturally matched the festive jello shots we made (insert the monkey-hiding-its-face emoji here). Gap's high rise wide-leg crop chinos can go with any top your heart desires, so for this look, I paired them with a red and blue striped tank from the Uniqlo x JW Anderson collaboration. The tank top's light, cotton feel is perfect for the summer heat and made the festive preparation for our party much easier, since its material is so breathable.
For accessories, I wore a bandana, which secured my hair back, while adding an extra pop of color. Plus, it made me feel like Rosie the Riveter, who is one of my favorite American icons. I also wore cherry hoop earrings because they matched my outfit and reminded me of cherry-picking, my favorite summertime activity.
Because I spent the entire day on my feet making sure the party was going well, I wore my trusty yellow Birkenstocks. These shoes remind me of a fancier version of Crocs and I find them perfect to throw on around the house, or when I am running errands.
Overall, this outfit was a hit. Festive, comfortable, AND cute? Count me in!
